Despite extreme weather conditions, the project delivered exceptional efficiency, with just 9% material waste and only a 3% overage in planned print hours, while earning recognition from FMGI as one of their safest operating subcontractors. Although the timeline extended to 19 days to protect quality and safety, Alquist successfully printed in sub-freezing temperatures and high humidity where traditional construction methods would have failed. These results demonstrate the robustness and adaptability of our process and its potential to advance Walmart’s construction efforts.
Project Accolades
Cold-Weather Performance: Successfully printed 3,692 SF of vertical walls in sub-freezing conditions, down to 24°F, with sustained high humidity where traditional CMU construction would have been infeasible.
Material Efficiency: Maintained a low 9% waste factor under extreme environmental conditions, finishing material usage precisely on target with 98.9 units used against a 99-unit projection.
Operational Precision: Completed printing at 103% of planned hours (71.3 actual vs. 69 planned), demonstrating consistent execution and minimal schedule variance despite weather impacts.
